Dodd Frank - Volcker Rule Accounting Implications

Date
September 16, 2015

In the wake of the Volcker Rule having gone into full effect in July, the panel will discuss key implementation challenges — past and future — faced by banks in conforming to the rule’s proprietary trading prohibition and restrictions on covered funds activities. This will include a discussion of accounting-related topics, including trading account and hedging analyses. The panel will also discuss issues arising for the accounting treatment of cleared derivatives, in light of recent CFTC mandatory swap clearing requirements.
