Jackie Buck, CCIFP Harper Construction Vice President of Finance and Administration With more than 30 years’ experience in all areas of construction financial management, Ms. Buck is recognized nationally as a leading expert in the construction industry. As Harper Construction’s, Vice President of Finance and Administration, she currently oversees accounting and finance, contract administration, information technology, legal and human resources. Her roots within the industry go very deep. Ms. Buck started her career in the early 1980s serving as Controller for several residential contractors in the Phoenix, AZ. In 1986, she joined Computer Guidance Corporation as a software implementation and training specialist. In this position, she worked with more than 75 construction companies located around the country, ranging in size from $20 million to $1 billion in annual revenue. Her focus was the development and implementation of state-of-the-art accounting and management systems for this diverse group of clients. In 1989, Ms. Buck brought her considerable financial, accounting, and technological skills to R.D. Olson Construction, when she was hired as the MIS Director. In 1990, she was promoted to Vice President Finance, and in 1993 she assumed the title of Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration. Throughout her career, Ms. Buck has been a strong industry advocate, serving as an active and energetic member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) since 1986. Ms. Buck has held every national office for the Association, including national Chairman in 2004-2005. In addition, she has served on CFMA’s national Executive Committee every year since 1993, and was a national At-Large Director from 1994-1998. Also at the national level, Ms Buck chaired CFMA’s Education Committee and Membership Committee. Currently she is a mentor for CFMA’s mentoring program and serves on the Emerging Issues Committee. Ms. Buck is an industry speaker for the AICPA, AGC, CICPAC, CFMA, NAWIC and Lorman Educational Services. Ms. Buck is a graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology and is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP). She is also a Past Chairman of the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals.
