This session will discuss the nuts-and-bolts issues of valuing businesses in financial distress. The speakers will use real-world examples and bankruptcy court cases to highlight valuation challenges and considerations with which appraisers are faced when valuing distressed businesses. Attendees will:
• Learn how generally accepted valuation methodologies are adapted to companies in financial distress
• Understand the dynamics of alternative/competing valuations prepared by different stakeholders in a bankruptcy
• Learn how bankruptcy courts have decided valuation disputes in recent Chapter 11 cases
