Detecting the Truth – Body Language, Controlling Interviews and Investigative Tips

The numbers don't lie but they don't always tell the truth. Interviewing represents the investigation of the mechanics of the actions of the interviewee responsible for a theft or a fraud. Controlling an interview and understanding the factors which contribute to obtaining the truth from witnesses and subjects of investigations is critical in the success of an investigation. During this sessions, attendees will:

  • Learn how to set the tone for the interview
  • Understand how the interviewer's demeanor, mannerisms and language can influence an interview and can be used to successfully control an interview
  • Recognize telltale signs of deception and use techniques to overcome those obstacles
  • Understand the mechanics of an interview, including how to dress, how to speak, how to influence
  • Be able to use language and visual cues to influence the interviewee
  • Be able to differentiate between interviewing and interrogation and how that can change the outcome of a litigation
