AICPA Accounting and Valuation Guide for Business Combinations - Framework for Selection and Application of Valuation Methods for Intangible Assets and Valuation of Inventory

The AICPA has convened a task force to develop an Accounting and Valuation Guide which will provide guidance and illustrations for preparers, independent auditors, and valuation specialists regarding the accounting and valuation considerations for business combination transactions. The presenters, who serve on the task force, will focus on two topics that will be addressed in the Guide – valuation of inventory and the framework for selection and application of valuation methods for intangible assets. This session will articulate some of the views that will be expressed in the Guide as well as the underlying rationale. The presenters will also provide a brief overview of other valuation topics that will be addressed in the Guide.
