Margaret Friel

Margaret (Peg) Friel is a Retirement Plans Specialist for the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR) based in its Washington DC office. Prior to working for WSGR Ms. Friel was in-house legal counsel for Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) from August 1, 2021 to August 2022. Ms. Friel is an attorney with over 20 years of experience specializing in employee benefits matters. Previously, she was Vice President and in-house legal counsel at T. Rowe Price in its ERISA practice group, a Tax Senior Manager at Deloitte Tax LLP, and a director of plan services for Diversified Investment Advisors (now Transamerica Retirement Solutions). She has experience working with nonprofit and for-profit organizations with respect to all qualified plan issues including nondiscrimination testing, 5500 compliance, plan design as well as assisting clients with the use of various correction programs through the IRS and DOL. Ms. Friel received a B.A. in English Literature, _magna cum laude_, from the University of Southern Maine, a J.D. from the New England School of Law, _cum laude_, and an M.B.A. from Suffolk University.
