Dan Deines received his undergraduate degree in history form Fort Hays State University, a Masters in Business from Emporia State University, and his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Nebraska. He has been at Kansas State University since 1982. During his career at Kansas State Dr. Deines has received the College of Business’s Outstanding Teaching Award and the Outstanding Advising Award. He was the co-coordinator for Kansas State University’s accounting curriculum revision sponsored by the Accounting Education Change Commission. He is a member of the AICPA and the American Accounting Association. He served as President of the Kansas Society of CPAs in 2003-04. In 2007 he received the AICPA’s Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education award. Today he leads the Accounting Pilot and Bridge Project in its effort to create an AP accounting course in high schools. In 2014 he was awarded the AICPA’s Special Recognition Award for his efforts to expand the educational supply chain for the accounting profession. He is a co-author of the accounting text Introduction to Accounting: an integrated approach. He is also a charter member of the Banner Road Hunt Club of Collyer, Kansas.
