Emeka Nwankpah
Sr. Compliance Counsel, General Motors
Emeka Nwankpah joined General Motors as Senior Compliance Counsel on June 2021. Emeka has almost seventeen years of experience designing, managing and advancing the global ethics and compliance programs for Fortune 500 companies in the aerospace, automotive and consumer goods industries.
Prior to joining General Motors, Emeka was chief integrity and compliance officer for Tenneco’s Powertrain and Clean Air divisions. Prior to that, he served as director, regional compliance counsel - Americas for Adient, one of the world’s largest auto seat manufacturers. Prior to Adient, he served as the director of ethics and compliance for Kellogg Company. Prior to Kellogg Company, Emeka served as the head ethics and compliance officer for Pratt & Whitney’s global operations. Pratt & Whitney is a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies Corporation. Prior to that role, he served as the head ethics and compliance officer for Pratt & Whitney’s engine overhaul and part repair business segment. Prior to that role, Emeka worked in the Pratt & Whitney Legal Department where he drafted and negotiated large engine sales and services contracts with international airlines.
Mr. Nwankpah received a bachelor’s degree in history from Andrews University, a juris doctorate degree from University of Connecticut School of Law, a master’s in business administration from the University of Connecticut School of Business. Mr. Nwankpah is also a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional. Emeka has received a number of external recognitions for his expertise and contributions to the ethics and compliance community including being named to Ethisphere’s Attorneys That Matter list in 2015 and 2016 and guiding Kellogg Company to five straight World’s Most Ethical Companies designations (2012-2017).
Emeka and his wife Margarett enjoy raising their two sons and supporting their church community.
