This session will delve into the special aspects of performing a valuation in the divorce setting at the fundamental level. The presentation will address the A to Z of valuation in divorce, from getting started to looking at valuation challenges in divorce, and will include ancillary services related to a divorce engagement. Along the way, the presentation will cover premises and standards, what interest is being valued and special issues such as personal goodwill in divorce, pass-through entity issues and other considerations in a divorce engagement. Participants will:
• Learn the basics of a divorce valuation engagement and considerations in completing such an engagement
• Learn some of the challenges of the divorce-valuation engagement and how to deal with them
• Learn how to deal with special issues that arise during the conduct of a divorce valuation engagement
• Be exposed to some ancillary services other than strictly valuation that often arise in the context of a divorce valuation engagement
