Rewarding employees with company stock ownership has blossomed over recent years across various business sectors.  This session will sort through the alphabet soup of options: NSOs, RSUs, ISOs and ESPPs, and study the different tax treatments for each.  You'll come away know how to report your client's various transactions and how to advise them on tax-advantaged strategies.

  • Identify when and how to use a Section 83(b) election.
  • Identify the interplay of AMT and the Minimum Tax Credit for ISOs.
  • Identify useful planning strategies to use when advising clients.
  • Analyze the Section 83(i) election rules and when to apply them.
