GASB Update

Governments currently are in the throws of implementing the new fiduciary activities standards and planning the implementation of the new leases Statement. This session primarily is intended to assist practitioners with the implementation of these new standards. In addition, new Statements on subscription-based IT arrangements and public private partnerships will be introduced. Moreover, significant projects on the GASB's technical agenda will be highlighted, including the new financial reporting model and revenue and expense recognition.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and address important practice issues associated with implementation of fiduciary activities.
  • Obtain an understanding of the changes being introduced by the new standards on leases and conduit debt.
  • Gain insights into proposed changes associated with the GASB’s Big Three—financial reporting model, revenue and expense recognition, and disclosure framework and other projects on the GASB’s technical agenda.
