Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs) are one of the most popular estate planning techniques. While most practitioners do a good job of setting up and funding a GRAT, many do not follow up with the annual requirements of the trust.

• Annual tax return filing requirements
• Setting up payment schedules and follow up appointments
• Analyzing annual cash flows
• Determining which assets to distribute if cash flows are insufficient
