Mr. Gardiner is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for King Ranch, Inc. He holds a BBA degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Houston Baptist University.
Mr. Gardiner has been the CFO at King Ranch since 1996.
King Ranch, Inc. is a privately-held ranching and agricultural company that owns the historic 825,000 acre “King Ranch” in South Texas. Its operations include cattle ranching, a 15,000 head feedyard, extensive farming operations (citrus, cotton, milo, sugar cane, corn, and turfgrass), as well as mineral interests, and retail. Its retail operations include the King Ranch Saddle Shop (luggage and leather goods), a John Deere dealership, a local newspaper, a Visitor Center, museum, and licensing agreements.
Mr. Gardiner recently served on the Board of Directors of SM Energy Company (NYSE:SM), an exploration and production company headquartered in Denver, Colorado from 1999 through 2016. Mr. Gardiner is currently serving as a Board member of Consolidated Citrus (private), the largest citrus producer in the U.S., headquartered in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Prior to 1996, Mr. Gardiner was the Executive Vice President & CFO of CRSS, Inc., a publicly-traded (NYSE) architectural, engineering, and construction management company headquartered in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Gardiner and his wife, Nancy, have two children – their daughter, Meredith is an attorney working for Norton Rose Fulbright and their son, Robert is a CPA/MBA currently working for Chevron.
