Vin Vieten joined NCUA as Program Officer, Member Business Loans in May 2010, with primary responsibilities to develop policy, assist with training development and provide support for commercial lending issues. Vin is a graduate of University of Maine with a BS degree in Economics. He has had an extensive career with over 28 years of experience as a financial manager working in the banking industry as a Senior Vice President/Senior Loan Officer and in private industry as a Controller. Vin has worked for community banks and regional banks providing financing to commercial accounts throughout New Hampshire and Maine. His credit training was with large regional banks emphasizing thorough financial analysis to develop financing packages to meet the needs of the borrower. Vin used this experience as a SVP/SLO to establish commercial lending departments in two community banks where he managed a team of lenders and overseeing commercial loan origination, underwriting, regulatory compliance and portfolio management. Additionally, he gained the perspective of the borrower as Controller of a large multi-state Redi Mix Concrete supplier with his primary duties financial management of the company, along with negotiating with the lenders in a difficult economy.
