Senior Global Upstream Analyst, The Energy Information Administration

Troy Cook is a senior global upstream analyst at the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) in the Office of Energy Analysis. At EIA Troy is responsible for staying current with upstream oil and gas resource issues, understanding the technologies that make the transition from resources to reserves to oil and gas production possible, and improving EIA modeling within both the National Energy Modeling System and currently under construction Global Hydrocarbon Supply Model. Prior to his career at the EIA Troy focused on upstream research issues as a staff scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Energy Research Science centers, specializing in oil and gas well and field performance metrics, probability modeling and assessment methodologies. Troy is a graduate of Marietta College with a degree in Petroleum Engineering, and spent a decade in various engineering roles in industry prior to working for the USGS and EIA.
