Vice President, Innovation, Virginia Society of CPAs

Tina Bates, CAE, is the vice president of innovation of the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), where she champions strategies for innovation and leadership development including the VSCPA Center for Innovation. A member of executive management, she helps drive VSCPA organizational goals and strategic vision to empower our members to thrive. She also oversees the organization's membership, marketing, communications and branding activities.

A Certified Association Executive (CAE) and graduate of the U.S. Chamber's Institute for Organizational Management (IOM), Tina has 20+ years of association experience and was selected a 2019 Association Innovator by DCA Live. She's a past chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Association/Nonprofit Section and its Richmond Chapter, and has served in a variety of volunteer leadership roles with the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE) and the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE). She also served as chair of the Virginia Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy from 2004-2008.

Tina's previous work experience includes working in the news department at WWBT NBC12, a public relations specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University and a radio disc jockey with WABN Radio. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia's College at Wise and her master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
