Thomas Hindmarch

Thomas Hindmarch is a Senior Employee Benefits Law Specialist in the Office of Regulations and Interpretations for the Employee Benefits Security Administrations (EBSA) in Washington, D.C. His responsibilities include drafting regulations, Technical Releases, Field Assistance Bulletins, and other guidance implementing Title I of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and reviewing draft regulations, rulings and notices of other agencies. Prior to joining EBSA in 2009, Mr. Hindmarch was the in-house benefits counsel for the U.S. subsidiaries of a large U.K. multinational corporation where he was responsible for legal, tax and compliance matters relating to the controlled group’s U.S. employee benefit plans and other compensation arrangements. Mr. Hindmarch received his L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and his B.A. from Lafayette College.
