Judge Cadish graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Science. She received her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1989, where she was a member of the Virginia Law Review and was honored to be awarded the Order of the Coif. After graduation, she moved to Las Vegas and clerked for two years for Hon. Philip M. Pro in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.
She then entered private practice where she focused on commercial litigation and employment law. She practiced most recently at Hale Lane Peek Dennison and Howard, where she worked from 1995 until August of 2007, becoming a shareholder at Hale Lane in 2000. In July of 2007, she was appointed by Governor Jim Gibbons to fill the District Judge vacancy left by Judge Joseph Bonaventure’s retirement, and she assumed the position of District Judge in Department 6, where she presently serves, in August of that year. She won election in 2008 to retain that District Court seat, after being endorsed by both the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Sun, and served as Chair of the Court’s Civil Bench Bar Committee from 2008 until 2011. She was re-elected without opposition in 2014. Since 2009, Judge Cadish has been hearing both civil and criminal cases in District Court.
Judge Cadish has been very active in the legal community, as well as the Las Vegas community at large. She completed a two-year term as President of the Howard D. McKibben Chapter of the American Inn of Court from 2010 to 2012, and is still on the Executive Board of that organization. Judge Cadish served as the Judicial Representative on the Clark County Bar Association’s Executive Board from January 2010 to December 2011, and also sat on CCBA’s New Lawyers Committee. She was honored as the CCBA’s Ambassador of the Year for 2010. She has participated as a judge in the We the People competition among high school students regarding knowledge of the U.S. Constitution for more than 20 years, and is now the chair of the Nevada Bar’s Law Related Education Committee which oversees the We the People program as well as other educational programs. Judge Cadish has also volunteered to serve as a judge for the very successful Trial by Peers program run by the Clark County Law Foundation. She was recognized as the Trial by Peers Judge of the Year for 2009. Judge Cadish was President of the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys from 2004 to 2006, and remains an active member in that organization. She is also actively involved as a member of Congregation Ner Tamid, where she was on the Sisterhood Board of Directors from 2006 through June of 2014, serving as its Parliamentarian. She was recognized by Congregation Ner Tamid as a Woman of Valor in November 2011. She is a life member of Hadassah, and joined the Board of the Jewish Family Service Agency in Las Vegas in January of 2014. In February 2012, she was nominated by President Barack Obama to be a United States District Judge for the District of Nevada.
