Tamarra Brown
Director, Administrative Services, Alameda County Public Health Department
Tamarra L. Brown, CPA, MBA is Director of Administrative Services for Alameda County Public Health Department, Health Care Services Agency. There she leads all aspects of FP&A, Accounting, and Administration for the Department.
Prior to that, Tamarra served in the Office of the Agency Director, Alameda County Health Care Services Agency, where her responsibilities included the Single Audit process, internal control assessment, and leadership in FP&A, supervising staff across multiple programs.
Tamarra started her accounting and finance career in public accounting and is an alum of KPMG and PwC. Her portfolio included banking, non-profit and financial services clients. Tamarra holds an MBA from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, where she was a Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management Fellow.
Tamarra is a lifelong learner and teacher who enjoys opportunities to mentor and encourage other women in their career journeys. She is passionate about financial literacy and education as a means to empower women. Over the past four years, Tamarra’s service on the boards of nonprofit organizations have combined her passion for the advancement of women in finance and accounting with her first love – marketing. On the board of Financial Women of San Francisco, Tamarra has served as Scholarship Co-Chair and VP of Scholarship and Mentoring. On the Board of Alliance of Black Women Accountants, Tamarra serves on the Scholarship and Marketing committees.
Outside of work, Tamarra enjoys faith, family, fitness, and cooking.
