Susan Callahan is the Director, Americas Accounting and Global Accounting Policy at Ford Motor Company where she manages all aspects of operational accounting for North and South America. Susan also manages a global policy team that has responsibility for the research, interpretation, and implementation of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting standards for the Automotive, Financial Services, Mobility and Central Treasury segments. Susan’s technical team is also responsible for providing accounting support for special transactions, including the acquisition and disposition of entities, capital restructurings, hedge accounting, compensation arrangements, etc.

Susan joined Ford Motor Company’s Office of Tax Counsel in 1997. In 2001, Susan was recruited by the Ford’s Global Accounting Director to help build a technical resource group for the Company. Prior to joining Ford, Susan was a member of PwC’s tax consulting practice where she was a Senior Manager responsible for both corporate and high net-worth engagements.

Susan graduated from the University of Michigan where she had enrolled in a dual-degree program, graduating with both her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master in Accounting. Susan presently serves as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council and as Trustee on the University of Michigan’s Paton Accounting Board. In the past, Susan served as a member of the Board of Directors of Hope Clinic, a non-profit organization and as an elected Trustee for the local school board. As a parent advocate, Susan often speaks to audiences interested in trans-racial and special-needs adoptions.
