Susan currently works for a leading not-for-profit Northern California health system and serves as an Accounting Director for the Risk Finance Department that specializes in accounting, financial analysis and reporting for Sutter Health’s Self-Insured programs for medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, medical, wellness and Employee Assistance Program, as well as a commercial medical health plan. In addition, Susan is also responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for the System’s 18 Retirement Plans requiring annual audits that includes a Defined Benefit Pension Plan and 403(b), 401(a) and 401(k) plans of combined assets of $7 Billion, with some plans having over 50,000 participants. On an annual basis, Susan and her team lead and support 20-25 different audits. Prior to her nearly 10 years of experience at Sutter Health, Susan worked in several Fortune 500 Public companies and also worked as an Auditor in public accounting. She is currently a member of Financial Executives International.
