Steve Chaney has served in the accounting field since 1996. He has worked for a big five accounting firm for approximately 6 years having experience with serving public and private clients in the areas of financial markets, professional services, manufacturing and technology.

Having extensive credentials serving both for profit and non-profit organizations, Steve has served in the capacity of Church Treasurer/Board Member, Controller, Business Administrator as well as many other positions.

After leaving public accounting, Steve started Chaney & Associates in May of 2002 as a financial ministry to support churches in the areas of stewardship. What started out as an ambitious back of the napkin business plan quickly grew and has since grown to be one of the leading CPA firms not only in Northern California, but in the country. Serving clients in six different states, technology has played a tremendous role in Chaney & Associates ability to stay ahead of the curve and serve clients across state lines.

Leveraging technology has been one of the cornerstones since Chaney & Associates inception in 2002. First, leveraging citrix based solutions and client portals to now leveraging the cloud and web based platforms, Chaney & Associates is poised to effectively and efficiently serve clients no matter where they are located.

Recently, Steve signed a contract with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to be a national speaker and trainer on cloud based accounting. Steve has also been hand selected to sit on a roundtable of thought leaders for cloud based technology and client accounting services. Chaney & Associates have been highlighted in the Journal of Accountancy several times most notably making the cover story in the February 2012 and March 2012 editions.
