Sonya J. Andreassen CPA/CFF, CFE

Sonya Andreassen-Henderson, CPA/CFF, CFE is a VP in PNC’s Enterprise Fraud Management group and leads its Mortgage Investigative Services Group (MISG). MISG has responsibility for the investigation of all mortgage-related fraud suspicions, including origination misrepresentations, short sale concerns, issues on modification and other loss mitigation activities as well as from servicing and investor repurchase issues. She joined PNC in October 2011 following a 16 year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), including over 10 years with PwC’s fraud/forensic accounting team focusing on corporate investigations.

Sonya is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events, including the 2012 Mortgage Bankers Association National Fraud Issues Conference, American Conference Institute’s 8th National Mortgage Fraud Summit and the 2012 Predictive Methods Conference. Sonya co-chairs the national AICPA joint Forensic Accounting and Business Valuation conference (2012 and 2013), following her role as co-chair of the stand-alone Forensic Accounting conference for several prior years.

She co-chaired the Practising Law Institute’s Basics of Accounting and Pocket MBA programs for attorneys in Chicago for several years, in addition to being a faculty member for several other Practising Law Institute programs. While at PwC, she created and led an innovative series of programs for Chicago-area Women Leaders in Financial Services, creating a forum for collaborative, insightful discussions among executive level women in financial services on industry challenges and solutions.

Sonya received her MAcc from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is licensed as a certified public accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). She is on the Board of the Young Women’s Leadership Charter School, the only non-selective, public, all-girls school in Chicago, and chairs its Membership & Board Development Committee.
