Simon Castonguay is a Senior Manager in the Forensic Data Analytics service of KPMG in Montreal, Canada, He is a Chartered Accountant in Canada (CPA, CA), as well as an Investigative and Forensic Accountant (CAIFA) and a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA). Over the years, Mr. Castonguay has leveraged his audit experience and IT background to build a strong expertise in data analytics in conjunction with forensic accounting and investigations, including proactive fraud risks assessments and anti-bribery and corruption. In addition to his forensic accounting and IT background, Mr. Castonguay has been responsible, over the years, for external and internal audit engagements, IT risk assessment reviews, IT audits, Fraud Risk Assessment reviews and Anti-Bribery and Corruption engagements. As a forensic practitioner, he has been involved in many investigations, big or small, where data played a key role in uncovering new facts and leading the way towards the investigations' conclusions. Mr. Castonguay also supervised KPMG's Data Insight practice in London, UK, in 2012, where he encountered on a daily basis the challenges of short, time-sensitive data analytics projects where objectives evolve as clues are uncovered from data. In 2010, he published a research paper on the impact of Cloud Computing on forensic practices in an investigative context and, since then, gave several conferences on this topic to a wide range of audiences. Mr. Castonguay coordinates KPMG Canada's Business Intelligence and Data Analytics network and is involved in his community, namely with the Montreal Youth Symphonic Orchestra. He also leads KPMG's Environmental Initiative in Montreal, where he lives with his wife Katarina and his son Philippe.
