Sherry obtained a LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 1991. Sherry was trained as a family law practitioner during her articling time with a medium sized firm in British Columbia and subsequently called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1992. Shortly after her return to her home province, she was called to the Bar of Alberta and again practiced at a medium sized law firm. While calling herself a "general practitioner" at the time, she predominantly practiced family law until she jointed the firm of Turnbull Boyes, at which point she started practicing family law exclusively. Sherry is a certified mediator and arbitrator. she has extensive experience in all areas of family disputes including distribution of property, support and parenting, by means of using alternative dispute resolutions. It is her belief that alternative dispute resolutions provide clients with the ability to control the separation process while selecting objectives and reaching same in an amicable fashion. Her wide range of training, skills and experience in processes such as mediation and arbitration as well as her remarkable people skills, assist her clients to achieve their goals. Sherry is an executive member of the Calgary Bar Association and was appointed as Queen's Counsel in 2012. She has made numerous contributions to legal education in the form or presentations on alternative dispute resolutions.
