Sean May

Professional Practice Fellow, SEC

Sean May is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the SEC. He is a member of the Accounting Group and his responsibilities include consulting with registrants on accounting and reporting matters, following the activities of U.S. and international accounting standard setters, and participating in the development of the Commission’s and other standard setting bodies’ rule proposals.

Mr. May joined the SEC in August 2015. Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. May worked as an Industry Fellow at the FASB. Prior to working at the FASB, Mr. May worked at Intel Corporation and PwC. He holds a B.S. from Bradley University and a Master of Professional Accounting from University of Texas. Mr. May is a Certified Public Accountant in Oregon.
