Ruth Uejio is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA) at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She currently serves as the topic team leader for the Non-Financial Assets & Leases topic team within OCA, and focuses primarily on accounting and reporting issues related to revenue recognition, leasing, consolidations, and business combinations. Ms. Uejio’s responsibilities include following the activities of professional accounting standard setting bodies both within the United States and internationally, consulting with registrants on accounting and reporting matters, and participating in the development of the Commission’s and other standard setting bodies’ rule proposals.
Prior to joining the Commission in 2015, Ms. Uejio was employed by Deloitte & Touche, LLP, where she spent a number of years within its audit practice with a focus on the real estate and financial services industries, and approximately six years within its National Office Accounting Consultation Group. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics-Accounting from Claremont McKenna College, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in Southern California. Ms. Uejio is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Hawaii.
