Partner-in-Charge, SEC Regulatory Matters, Grant Thornton

Rohit Elhance has 25 years of international experience serving large multinational and entrepreneurial companies in the areas of audit, risk advisory and transaction services. 

As a partner-in-charge of the SEC Regulatory Matters group, he serves as a national resource assisting companies on complex SEC reporting and compliance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, restructuring, pro forma information, pre-clearance or waiver requests and comment letter responses. He has extensive capital markets experience and has assisted several companies in navigating through their IPOs (both traditional or via SPACs), secondary/ follow-on offerings and private placements as well as in meeting their ongoing periodic and current reporting obligations under the securities laws. 

Rohit represents the Firm on professional committees and task forces sponsored by the AICPA’s Center for Audit Quality that meets the SEC staff regularly to discuss practices issues facing SEC registrants.  Rohit has also led the development of several thought leadership publications and facilitated knowledge sessions focused on accounting, audit and SEC reporting matters in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Rohit oversees the cross-border filing review function for Grant Thornton, where he works with international member firms in connection with their audits of SEC registrants. He has also worked with Grant Thornton’s member firm in India (on secondment), where he was the national leader for SEC and U.S. GAAP matters and the Practice leader for Pune office. 

Prior to joining the national office, Rohit has also led several integrated audit engagements, SOX readiness projects and financial due diligence reviews for M&A transactions. He started his career with Arthur Andersen and has also worked with Ernst & Young prior to joining Grant Thornton.
