Rob Tonkinson is a senior healthcare executive with more than 25 years experience in healthcare financial and operations management for multi-hospital and single-hospital health systems, including physician practices and for-profit and not-for-profit diversified organizations. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a bachelors degree in Public Policy and a masters degree in Health Care Administration, Rob started his career as an administrative resident at Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia, where he eventually rose to the position of Vice President of Financial Planning and Budget and Assistant Treasurer. His first CFO position was with the Carle Foundation, a health system in Urbana, Illinois where he served for seven and a half years, culminating in the acquisition of the Carle Clinic and Health Alliance Medical Plans. Rob joined Cincinnati-based Mercy Health as Market CFO and COO for the two-hospital Lorain, Ohio market. His latest role was as the Chief Financial Officer for Centra Health, a $1.1 billion diversified health system headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia. Rob is currently doing independent consulting work.
