Ray Slocumb

Ray is the lead technology and business controls Risk Assurance partner in PwC's Boston office.  Ray specializes in business process and information technology risk assurance. His role includes managing IT control, IT Internal Audit, Sarbanes Oxley compliance (SOX), risk management, ERP controls, business process, security and technology progects. Ray also serves as the lead risk assurance partner on various large clients in this market.  Ray also frequently coordinates global PricewaterhouseCoopers resources for multinational clients.  

Ray has more than 25 years of experience in leading various IT internal audit, systems technology and business process projects on all technical platforms, including mainframe, client-server, network and web-enabled environments.  Ray’s recent project responsibilities have included managing various large Sarbanes-Oxley 404 projects, IT Internal Audit projects, IT audit outsourcing projects, ERP system development audit and control projects, system quality assurance reviews, ERP project assurance, IT strategy evaluations, trading and marketing control reviews, business continuity planning, technical security diagnostic reviews, and assessment of controls in various large systems applications.  He also has performed and led extensive controls ERP controls projects related to SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft and Lawson. 

Ray’s key clients have included Akamai, TJX, Biogen, GMCR, Inc, IDEXX, UIL Holdings, iRobot, Converse, BMC Software, KBR Inc, Idexx, Constant Contact, AIC and MKS.  Prior to relocating to the Boston PwC office from Houston, he served ExxonMobil, Shell Oil, El Paso Energy, Apache Corp, ENI Petroleum, Entergy, Energen, KBR Inc, ERCOT, Dynegy and ConocoPhilips.

Ray has held various leadership roles at PwC including US Leader for Systems and Process Assurance, Central Region Leader for Systems and Process Assuance, US Energy Sector Leader for Consulting and Houston Market Consulting practice Leader.  Ray is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).  He is a frequent speaker at professional organizations around the country on a variety of topics, including Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, security, ERP Controls, business continuity planning and leadership.
