Rachel is the Professional Practice Director at Grant Thornton in Washington, D.C., where she works with the Not-for-Profit and Specialty Attest practices. She has 24 years of experience serving on the audits of not-for-profit clients, including cultural institutions, hospitals, associations, universities, charities, foundations, and religious organizations and also audited federal government agencies for 7 years. Rachel's focus has been financial statement audits and single audits of not-for-profit organizations under AICPA and Government Auditing Standards. In particular, she specializes in the auditing of significant investment portfolios and testing compliance and internal controls over compliance as a part of single audits. In her Public Sector Professional Practice Director role, Rachel monitors audit quality, manages risk, and provides technical support to audit and attest teams. Rachel is a licensed CPA in Illinois and Virginia and is a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs. Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania.
