Paula Frederick is a Principal of Cohen Hamilton Steger & Co. Inc. in Toronto, Canada where she specializes in business valuations and the quantification of losses. She has practiced exclusively in these areas for over 20 years. Paula is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Business Valuator. Paulas past assignments have involved the quantification of losses resulting from intellectual property disputes in the pharmaceutical industry, expropriation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, oppression, wrongful termination, and other financial disputes. She has also prepared business valuations related to shareholder disputes, going-private transactions and other related party transactions, oppression, expropriation, mergers and acquisitions, tax, and matrimonial matters. Paula has been qualified as an expert witness by the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and in private arbitrations. In particular, she was an expert witness in the Ramipril case, which was the first Section 8 pharmaceutical case to be heard in the Federal Court of Canada. Paula is currently a Director of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. She is also active in the Ontario Expropriation Association serving as a Director and Past President.
