Michael Smith

Michael is the firm’s national leader of the finance and accounting outsourcing (FAO) team. He works closely with his clients to develop and implement outsourcing solutions that will enhance business performance. Michael’s responsibilities include practice innovation, which involves identifying ways to better leverage technology in the areas of accounting and finance. Prior to focusing in FAO, Michael developed a diverse skill set by providing a multitude of services to his clients across several industries. His experience touched many areas including tax, assurance, forensic accounting, succession planning, litigation support, estate planning, accounting systems implementations, accounting policies and procedures documentation, and business process improvement. Prior to joining RSM, Michael was a partner at regional firm. Michael has also been a frequent speaker at various American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) events covering cloud computing and client accounting services. In addition, he has contributed to multiple AICPA publications.
