Michael Damasiewicz
Assistant to the Director Examination, SB/SE Division, IRS
Michael Damasiewicz is currently serving as the Assistant to the Director Examination in the SB/SE Division. Mike will be responsible for supporting the Director in the delivery of several key initiatives within Examination, including the Information Referral and Information Returns projects.
Prior to current position, Mike served as the Director, Exam Case Selection,
where he provided executive oversight for providing policy and guidance on the selection of cases and delivery of inventory for the Campus, Field and Specialty employees in SB/SE Examination Operations. Mike also provided oversight of the Abusive Transactions Lead Development Center and the Information Returns Document Matching Program, key Servicewide programs.
Prior to this assignment, he served as the Director, Exam Planning and Delivery and the Acting Director, California Examination Area. Mike is a graduate of the Summer 2014 Candidate Development Program and was a participant in the 2011 Executive Readiness class.
Mike began his career in 1985 as a Tax Examiner in Underreporter at the Austin Compliance Center, and has held a number of technical and leadership positions. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Mike and his wife Jeri, a Senior Tax Analyst in Collection, enjoy traveling and are avid followers of Florida State University athletics.
