Michael Berrigan CPA

Michael Berrigan is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the SEC. He is a member of the Accounting Group and his responsibilities include consulting with registrants on accounting and reporting matters, following the activities of US and international accounting standard setters, and participating in the development of the Commission’s and other standard setting bodies’ rule proposals. Mr. Berrigan joined the SEC in June 2016. Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. Berrigan worked in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s National Office in Wilton, Connecticut, and audited SEC registrants located in New York and Atlanta. He holds a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Georgia. Mr. Berrigan is a Certified Public Accountant (Georgia) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
