Melissa Raminpour is an Acting Deputy Chief Accountant for the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In this capacity, she is responsible for managing a team of highly technical and experienced accountants that provide guidance on financial reporting policies and practices to the Division. Prior to this role, she was an Associate Chief Accountant in the Accounting Group of the Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant for four years. Additionally, she served in various staff roles and as an Accounting Branch Chief in the Division of Corporation Finance in various industries, including technology, manufacturing, transportation, entertainment, and services. Before joining the SEC in 2007, she was an audit manager at the Silicon Valley office of KPMG LLP. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.
