Melissa is an audit partner in the Philadelphia office. She specializes in the financial services, banking, and real estate industries, and is responsible for providing technical guidance and risk management oversight of financial statement audits across the country. Melissa currently focuses predominately on the audits of lending institutions including public commercial banks, cooperative banks, and a variety of specialty lenders. Throughout her career, Melissa has been recognized for leading teams that deliver distinctive high quality service to clients, thus contributing to her gaining additional leadership roles within Grant Thornton. Melissa completed a rotation within Grant Thornton’s National Professional Standards Group and is a member of the Firm’s Audit Lending Task Force. She also serves as the Philadelphia office leader for the firm’s Women at Grant Thornton initiative, which is designed to enhance the recruitment, retention and advancement of women into leadership positions. Melissa is a certified public accountant in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an active member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Professional Network and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Melissa is a member of the board of directors of Girls, Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, which is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Melissa graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
