Mark "Rusty" Sherwood specializes in building strategic leaders and the means by which industry executives and their teams develop those competencies critical to enduring high-performance organizations. Rusty's work with clients covers strategic leadership thinking, forming high-performance teams, and shaping corporate cultures that inspire a balance of high-care & high-accountability. His 40+ years in design and construction offers organizations extensive insight with succession planning, leadership bench development and crafting vision foundations that guide sustainable, high-performance organizations. Rusty currently leads FMI's Team Leadership discipline, focused on complex construction project team optimization and AEC executive team performance. His practice and tenure at FMI have forged a deep understanding of project delivery methods, including design-build, integrated project delivery and other emerging methods that lead to collective project team success. Rusty's particular expertise revolves around the development of those leadership competencies and team behaviors foundational to exceptional project outcomes and executive team performance. Prior to FMI, Rusty was a senior leader with McGraw-Hill for 14 years, leading global sales for their construction information group, and 15 years leading domestic and international business development and marketing strategy for numerous U.S. and foreign-based construction product manufacturers and wholesale distributors. He and his wife Joni call Castle Rock Colorado home, enjoying time with their horses and fly-fishing the beautiful rivers of the West.
