Mark Biersmith (“buy.er.smith”) is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Aerial Investments, Inc., a holding company with nineteen subsidiaries in the real estate development space. His third party mergers and acquisition (“M&A”) work is performed through his private registered practice in compliance with regulations. His success at the C-level is best witnessed by the recognition of nine intercompany promotions.
He has closed over seventy-three (73) M&A transactions with financings now reaching past $3.6 billion in both the public and private markets. Industry experience includes technology, manufacturing, public accounting, real estate/property management, insurance/broker dealer, construction, retail, private equity fund partnerships, film, advertising, media, and transportation. He has represented or served international clients, shareholders or employers from Australia, China, United States, Israel, United Kingdom, and Mexico with recognition for his work coming from additional countries including Nigeria, South Africa, Northern Asia, Malaysia, Ireland, and New Zealand. Mr. Biersmith has worked or advised on transactions with the world’s leading M&A firms including Goldman Sachs; KKR; Wasserstein, Perella &Co.; Bankers Trust; Drexel, Burnham, Lambert; TCI; Jack Kent Cooke; Ladenburg Thalman; Bank of American/Merrill Lynch; Prudential; Hallmark; JP Morgan Chase; Hearst Corporation; CIT, and many others. He has been introduced to audiences at the New York Stock Exchange, the Harvard Club, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Mr. Biersmith is a past member of the CEO Clubs International, Inc. which recently invited him to be a member of the welcoming party to the Chinese business delegation at the commencement of their recent tour in the United States.
Academically, Mr. Biersmith built a strong foundation to succeed. He possesses the following credentials or academic certificates: Masters Degree in Business Administration (“MBA”), Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”), Certified Management Accountant (“CMA”), Certified Computer Professional (“CCP”), Chartered Global Management Accountant (“CGMA”), International Financial Reporting Standards Academic Certificates (“IFRS”) from both the American Institute of CPAs (“AICPA”) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”), and an extendible reporting language (“XBRL”) certificate from the XBRL Foundation. Mr. Biersmith was a well-recognized Becker CPA Review instructor for over seven years and a Dauberman CPA Review instructor for two years. He has graded the CMA examination and asked by the Institute of Management Accountants (“IMA”) to draft the solution to an essay question. He received his SEC academic training at the former SEC School of Washington and studied at the CPA School of Washington.
Mr. Biersmith as appeared in over 340 publications worldwide, been the subject of many podcasts, productions including the Boardroom and an award winning talk show broadcast in over 23 markets. The AICPA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (“CIMA”) and the Global Accounting Alliance (“GAA”) have recently recognized Mr. Biersmith’s work in their separate online and/or print publications in the Journal of Accountancy, CIMA and the Journal of Global Accounting.
