Lisa Simpson, CPA, CGMA is a nationally recognized leader and trusted voice on the forces shaping the accounting profession. As Vice President – Firm Services at the AICPA, she oversees the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS), Firm Relationship Management, Diversity & Inclusion, and Emerging Professionals Initiatives. In this role, she guides strategic efforts that help firms of all sizes navigate an evolving landscape, ensuring practitioners remain competitive and future‑ready.

Lisa’s teams develop insights, programs, and engagement strategies that strengthen firm performance, cultivate a diverse and resilient talent pipeline, and support the transformation of traditional business models across the profession. With a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing CPA firms, she leads national conversations on innovation, practice management, and the sustainability of the profession.

Since 2020, Lisa has connected with thousands of CPAs and finance professionals as co‑host of the award‑winning AICPA Town Hall Series — one of the profession’s most influential platforms for real‑time guidance and analysis. Her continued recognition on Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting list reflects her broad impact and respected perspective within the profession.

Lisa’s multifaceted career spans Big Four experience, small‑firm practice, and more than two decades in industry, including CFO roles in both nonprofit and for‑profit organizations. This 360‑degree background gives her a uniquely comprehensive view of the profession and its stakeholders, informing her leadership and advocacy at the national level.

She is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and is licensed as a CPA in North Carolina and Kentucky.
