Lauren Alexander CPA

Lauren Alexander is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA) at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Lauren consults with registrants on accounting and reporting matters, follows the activities of U.S. and international accounting standard setters, and participates in developing the Commission’s rule proposals. She focuses primarily on technical accounting matters involving revenue recognition. Prior to joining the Commission in August of 2018, she worked in Ernst & Young LLP’s National Office in Washington, D.C. Before that, she was an Associate Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Lauren has a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington, D.C. and Virginia.
