Laura Rainey is a Program Director with the National Science Foundation’s Office of Inspector General (NSF-OIG), conducting audit oversight of the NSF-managed U.S. Antarctic Program (USAP). Prior to her current position, Laura led the OIG’s Financial & IT Audits team, which conducted and managed contractor-conducted audits of NSF’s financial and cybersecurity programs. She has been the OIG’s point person on Single Audit since 2007 and is responsible for evaluating the reliability of Single Audits that fall under NSF’s cognizance or oversight. Before joining NSF-OIG in 2006, Laura worked for the Department of Defense’s OIG, where her assignments included financial, acquisition, logistics, and information systems audits; development of audit policy; quality assurance of Single Audits; and peer reviews of Defense internal audit organizations. She is a Certified Internal Auditor.
