Laura Ipsen

Senior Vice President, Oracle America, Global Industry Solution Group (GISG)

As Senior Vice President of the Global Industry Solutions Group, Laura Ipsen leads a team of industry and technology experts that build and enable multi-pillar solutions across Oracles top growth industries. With over 25 years of experience as a Silicon Valley technology executive, Ipsen has worked intensively with the public and private sector to drive transformative change through what she calls doing more with less and new with less with partners and customers to inspire innovation globally.
Prior to joining Oracle, Ipsen served as corporate vice president of Microsofts Worldwide Public Sector organization, where she led a team of more than 1,900 sales and marketing professionals serving government, education, and non-privatized healthcare customers in more than 100 countries. Prior to Microsoft, Ipsen was senior vice president and general manager of Connected Energy Networks at Cisco, where she led the effort to use the network as the platform to transform how the world manages its energy, building smart grid solutions for utilities globally. Previously, Ipsen established and managed Cisco's Global Policy and Government Affairs division leading their public policy agenda and advancing governmental policies around the Internet and adoption of broadband access globally.
Ipsen currently serves on the boards of Monsanto and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). She is the past chair of the board of the Information Technology Industry Council based in Washington, DC. Ipsen has also received numerous awards and recognition for her work in information and communications technology, sustainability and gender diversity including the Women Making History award from U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer. She has also been featured in Fast Company.
Ipsen holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from the Woodrow Wilson School of Foreign Affairs at University of Virginia and studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Jordan. She is also a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Silicon Valley Chapter.
