Kris Shirley

Kris Shirley is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with a focus on valuation and fair value measurement matters. His responsibilities include following the activities of U.S. and international professional accounting standard setting bodies, consultations with registrants on accounting, valuation and reporting matters, and participation in rule proposals by the Commission and other standard setting bodies.
Prior to the SEC, Kris was a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services' Valuation & Business Modelling Group. While at EY, Kris specialized in the valuation of business enterprises, intangible assets, derivative instruments and other complex securities for financial reporting, tax, and management planning purposes.
Kris graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
