An entrepreneur, management consultant, guest lecturer and published author, Kevin Hanrahan is an expert in process improvement and digitization in corporate functions and highly regulated environments. Kevin is Chairman and CEO of TranSigma, member of the Board of Directors of FEI-New York City, Master Black Belt, certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA- inactive), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA-inactive) and Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP). He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, Ohio Society of CPA’s, Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the Project Management Institute. Kevin graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Accounting from Xavier University. He received his Masters in Finance/Tax magna cum laude from Xavier University.
Currently, Kevin is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors at TranSigma, a management consulting firm that converts business strategy into results with world-class Lean, Governance, Enterprise Data and Program Management services. There, he leads enterprise-wide strategic direction, controllership and growth with a focus on the execution of strategy. During his time at TranSigma, Kevin has re-branded the company and its strategic focus, achieved 35% compounded annual growth rate, added offices in Europe and the United States, and transformed its technology stack to be 100% cloud-based, highly collaborative and mobile-enabled. His client responsibilities include streamlining complex business issues in highly regulated global environments and solving multi-layered client issues with sensitivity and awareness of enterprise risk, compliance issues, and cultural influences.
Prior to TranSigma, Kevin was head of IT for ING North America Wealth Management, charged with IT executive responsibilities for ING’s Wealth Management business including information management, business intelligence, financial applications, risk applications, IT security and IT controllership. While at ING he utilized Six Sigma approaches that significantly improved the capability and customer experience of external self-service portals and data warehouses.
Before his IT executive position at ING, Kevin was a CIO for GE and GE Capital, supervising finance, risk management, capital markets, controller and tax systems for almost a decade. There, Kevin exercised his IT, financial, regulatory and governance expertise to organize and lead a successful effort to reengineer mission-critical global financial processes, pioneer risk data warehouse development and solve complex financial issues with high-value technologies and processes. During this time his teams also led significant improvements to SOX controls and tests as well as the initiation of the XBRL pilot program with the SEC.
Kevin started his career at PWC in the tax practice. After several years providing international tax consulting services, he led product areas in the PWC Tax Technology Group to drive financial and tax capabilities into their rapidly growing commercial software portfolio (where over 50% of the Fortune 500 were clients). Kevin later held leadership roles at Arthur Andersen and founded several technology startup firms.
Kevin possesses multiple certifications that span across finance, IT, process reengineering and program management. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), a Certified Management Accountant (inactive), a Certified Project Management Professional, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Certified Information Technology Professional.
Apart from his executive career, Kevin is affiliated with a number of organizations including PMI, ISACA, AICPA, OSCPA, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Financial Executives International. Additionally, Kevin has been associated with the Connecticut Food bank, Junior Achievement, Feed the Children, Habitat for Humanity and United Way as part of his contributions to the community.
Kevin possesses a BSBA (Accounting, summa cum laude) and an MBA (Finance and Tax concentrations, magna cum laude) from the Xavier University School of Business Administration.
