Katie Shields

With over 19 years of expertise in learning and development, Katie Shields is a results-driven association professional with proficiency in program design, event management and strategic initiatives. In her current role as the Senior Director of Learning and Operations at the Iowa Society CPAs, Katie plays a pivotal role in steering the organization's educational endeavors.

Leading with a strategic vision, Katie oversees the planning and execution of a portfolio comprising over 110 annual live and virtual continuing education seminars, professional development programs, conferences, webcasts, roundtables, and networking events. Her responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum, including budget development and oversight, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, content management and scheduling, and success metrics and stakeholder feedback.

Katie is a key collaborator with the CEO and Board of Directors, where she actively contributes to strategic planning initiatives aimed at propelling the organization forward.
