Kathy Hurtt is an Associate Professor and holder of the KPMG – Thomas L. Holton Chair of Accounting at Baylor University where she has worked since 2004. She received her PhD at the University of Utah. Prior to Baylor, Kathy was on faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her professional experience includes serving as Director of Internal Audit at the University of the Pacific, working as an auditor for KPMG and working as an Assistant Controller at a property casualty insurance company. Her research focuses primarily in the area of auditors’ professional skepticism, auditor judgment, non-profit reporting and accounting pedagogy. She is passionate about helping individuals in developing countries, primarily through education and business training.
