Joseph P. Dooley CPA, CFF, CITP, CFE, CIPP

Joseph Dooley is responsible for the overall management of the forensic accounting practice within the Intelligence & Investigations group at Stroz Friedberg LLC. He actively supervises internal investigations into FCPA/Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Money-Laundering, Embezzlement, Securities Fraud, and other investigations that require a combination of accounting expertise, investigative skill in examining financial transactions, money and asset-tracing proficiency, combined with witness interviewing expertise. Mr. Dooley develops compliance programs designed to mitigate and provide for the early identification of fraud, corruption and regulatory violations. He works with organizations to assess existing internal control mechanisms designed to provide an early warning system for the identification of fraudulent activity. He performs forensic accounting services in matters involving potential or actual civil or criminal litigation by leading teams of trained professionals in the determination of lost profits, income, assets or damages and any other matter involving accounting expertise in the legal system. He assists clients and counsel in responding to regulatory and law enforcement inquiries by assessing the legitimacy of the information obtained and evaluated during the course of complex internal investigations. Prior to joining Stroz Friedberg Mr. Dooley was a Managing Director in the NYC office of a Big 4 public accounting firm. Mr. Dooley served for 21 years with the FBI in the Seattle, Newark and New Haven offices where he wroked a variety of criminal investigative matters but specialized in fraud and corruption investigations. During the last five years of Mr. Dooley's career in the FBI he started and led an investigative squad and taskforce devoted to the investigation of cybercrime. During his career in the FBI Mr. Dooley instructed other law enforcement personnel on appropriate investigative teachniques in the US and abroad.
