John Verdonck

John Verdonck is an audit partner in the New York office of KPMG LLP and a senior advisor to KPMG's Audit Committee Institute. He has devoted substantially all of his time with the firm servicing clients in the financial services industry.

With over thirty-four years of experience, John is an SEC Reviewing Partner and has broad engagement partner experience serving many of KPMG's largest global financial services clients, including Munich Re, Deutsche Bank, Citigroup, HSBC and ING.

John's technical skills and background include accounting for insurance companies, statutory accounting principles, SEC financial reporting and internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

John has contributed to the accounting and auditing standard setting process as a member of the AICPA Investment Banking and Stockbrokerage Committee and AICPA Discount Accretion Task Force. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Society of Insurance Financial Management and serves on the KPMG Partnership Audit Committee.
