John Shain is president of Automated Financial Systems, Inc. (AFS), the market leader in the provision of commercial lending solutions and industry benchmarking in commercial bank risk, operational performance, and pricing to top tier U.S. banks. Under his direction, the Company has leveraged its dominant domestic market position by developing and delivering the AFS private-cloud network called AFS Commerce, which has grown into the nation’s largest real time, straight through lending process. AFS Commerce customers process the full loan product line from consumer finance loans to complex multi-currency cross border syndicated loans.
President of AFS, Shain has over 35 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is a contributing author of articles to various banking and management publications and is a frequent speaker on the subjects of commercial banking and the coordination of risk, pricing and the data components of the credit delivery process.
Shain is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he earned an MBA, and from Temple University where he earned a BBA. He is also an alumnus of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, sponsored by the American Bankers Association. Shain is also a member of the Dean’s Council at the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
